What does your job entail?
I have been the Product Manager for Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific at art of travel for the past 14 years. In this position I’m responsible for selecting the suitable products in these markets to meet with our high quality standards. I also take care of planning and booking tailor-made itineraries for our clients to these destinations. This requires profound first hand-knowledge of the products we sell and personal consultation with our clients before, during and after their tour with us.
How do you position art of travel in the world of luxury travel?
art of travel is one of the leading wholesalers in the German speaking market for upmarket individual holidays worldwide and has a team of highly skilled destination experts. To keep our reputation it is essential that a tailor made holiday for our clients is built on objective advice, a fine-tuned appreciation for a customer’s needs and the first-hand knowledge that only an expert can provide.
What type of experiences are your clients seeking?
The personal touch that all of our clients require is mirrored in their travel expectations – what is perfect for one person may well not be perfect for another. So we are very flexible with our programs. We find the main point of interests are nature, expeditions or adventure, relaxation, and art and culture.
What changes have you seen or are anticipating within the industry?
There is a stronger focus on experiences with limited access, so called ‘money can’t buy’ experiences. And we use our excellent network in the industry to meet these requests. Our USP is definitely our profound knowledge of the destinations and the products we sell. We have been operating for 28 years in this market and have always been very innovative. We try to create trends ourselves and to set new quality standards.
