Papua New Guinea: Cultivating Connection in the Cradle of Tradition

Luxperience’s Familiarisation Program is an experience-centric program, designed wholly around industry feedback and requirements.

This unique program provides travel advisors attending Luxperience the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in a destination and gain knowledge specific to their niche clientele’s needs.

We are pleased to share this once-in-a-lifetime experience, and brand new famil destination in 2026: Papua New Guinea.

Cultural Safari – Papua New Guinea

Papua New Guinea is one of the least-visited destinations in the world, and one of the most culturally diverse.

This remarkable country is home to over 800 languages and living cultures, where ancient traditions continue to shape daily life. From remote highland communities to coastal villages, visitors are welcomed into authentic cultural exchanges grounded in respect and reciprocity.

Highlights

You can expect Cultural Tours, Festival Experiences, and immerse in the stunning Niugini Highlands and Niugini Islands.

Explore pristine rainforests alive with endemic Birds of Paradise, found nowhere else on Earth, and experience landscapes and wildlife largely untouched by mass tourism.

The Details

This famil will take place prior to Luxperience, seamlessly timed for a smooth connection in your journey towards the Southern Hemisphere.

Dates: 9-15 November (6 nights)

Low-Impact Cultural Immersions

As highland festivals (like Goroka and Hagen) conclude by October, tours will transition into smaller, village-based products in November.

This is an excellent time for Sepik River or New Britain island tours, where the focus is on sustainable interaction with the local Tolai or Baining communities.

Famil Host

Be hosted by Luxperience partner South Sea Horizons, who have been operating in Papua New Guinea since 2007. Working closely with the local community, the team conduct and create low impact and sustainable travel products that give back to the region.

And there’s more!

The Luxperience 2026 Famil Program has plenty more destinations and experiences on offer, find out about other opportunities that you can participate in.

How does the famil program work?

The famil program is exclusive to buyers attending Luxperience for the full three days of meetings, 17-20 November 2026 in Sydney, Australia. Buyers have the opportunity to nominate their famil preferences after registration, and the host suppliers select buyers for each famil.

Please note that famil positions are not guaranteed and are limited.
