Natassia Wheeler is a dedicated and loyal professional with a strong passion for tourism, having worked in multiple Regional Tourism Organisation (RTO) throughout her career. Preferring to go by Tash, she started her career in tourism at the Gladstone Area Promotion and Development as a trainee Marketing Assistant. Tash quickly rose through the ranks within Gladstone Area Promotion and Development moving to Administration Assistant then to Executive Assistant to the CEO and finally as Corporate Projects and Events Coordinator.

Growing up in a small town, Tash then set her sights on big city life, moving to Brisbane and taking up a position with Tourism and Events Queensland as Executive Assistant to Executive Director International before moving back to into RTO world with Brisbane Marketing as Executive Assistant to CEO.

Then 6 years ago, with a wealth of tourism knowledge behind her, Tash packed up her small family and headed north for the Whitsundays. She was offered a position within Tourism Whitsundays as Marketing Executive International. True to form, Tash again quickly rose through the ranks moving to Destination Tourism Specialist to Marketing Manager finally into the position of CEO.

Tash has proven she is the key ingredient to building, strengthening and maintaining strong relationships with key industry and stakeholders. She has a keen eye for achieving business growth through key business priorities as well as identifying and developing new business opportunities. She is a wiz when it come to the management of company budgets – keeping everything in line to achieve the best bottom line!

Being a dedicated team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills has help Tash quickly rise to the role of CEO. With the ability to positively influence and upskill her team.

Having worked in varied positions within the tourism sector has allowed Tash to gain invaluable knowledge across Economic Development, Events, Public Relations, Human Resources, and of course Destination Marketing.

Tash is a strong positive leader at the helm of the Tourism Whitsundays team.
