(Sydney, 17 April 2015) Leading luxury and experiential travel trade exhibition, Luxperience, is introducing its inaugural Luxperience Awards at this year’s event, which takes place in Sydney on 6-9 September 2015.

The prestigious awards - judged by an esteemed panel of travel industry experts - are designed to acknowledge excellence in the development and promotion of the finest products that the luxury travel industry has to offer.

Winners will be announced in front of over 500 guests at the glittering Luxperience Gala Dinner and Awards Evening, taking place on 8 September 2015 on the rooftop of The Star, with views over Sydney Harbour.

John Autelitano, General Manager of Hotels The Star said: “The Star is excited to partner with Luxperience and host the Official Gala Dinner on Tuesday 8 September. The partnership has presented The Star with a terrific opportunity to showcase what we have to offer as Sydney’s premier entertainment destination. We look forward to helping the Luxperience guests enjoy what this wonderful city has to offer.”

The Star offers award winning chefs and restaurants, five-star accommodation across three hotel towers including the luxurious boutique hotel, The Darling, a 14 room day spa, a luxury retail collection, a world class casino and a $100 million Event Centre which has played host to a range of domestic and international conferences, gala dinners, exhibitions and award functions. The Star is located just moments from many of Sydney’s most iconic attractions and offers sweeping views of the Sydney city skyline.

Michelle Papas Director of Marketing at Luxperience, commented: “With some of the world’s most impressive suppliers and our elite group of decision-makers in the global luxury and experiential travel arena in attendance, these awards will recognise not only their endeavours but the evolution of luxury travel and highlight the shining stars and visionaries of this Lux community. Winners will set industry standards for inspiration, innovation and quality, raising the bar for others to emulate.”

There will be three awards for buyers and three for suppliers, under the themes of Inspiring, Meaningful and Connections.

The Inspiring Award will recognise one buyer and one supplier that best demonstrates excellence in the planning and development of innovative products and services, acknowledging entrepreneurial vision, market leadership and uniqueness.

The Meaningful Award will pay tribute to a buyer and a supplier that contributes to a greater understanding of history, heritage and culture, incorporating elements such as sense of community, experiential tourism or social responsibility within their program or product.

The Connections Award will recognise a successful e-marketing campaign, both from the buyer and supplier sides, which effectively connect with key target markets within the luxury or high end experiential travel space.

In addition to these six awards, Luxperience will recognise an outstanding destination partner which has influenced the development of luxury and experiential tourism within their country or region.

Entries for the Luxperience 2015 Awards open on 20 April and the deadline for submissions is 13 July.
